TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR have re-entered the race to sign Richard Dunne, according to The Sun.

The Manchester City central defender is being tipped to leave the City of Manchester Stadium as Mark Hughes continues to persue his interest in John Terry and Joleon Lescott.

Dunne, 29, was expected to join Sunderland in a £5million deal, but Hughes wants to land a replacement before letting the Republic of Irish international depart.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has been a long-term admirer of Dunne and nearly signed him at Portsmouth last season, until City offered him a new £55,000-a-week contract.

Would you be happy with the signing of Richard Dunne?  Have your say below.

  1. Good Addition. He reads the english game very well!!! and surprisly has good pace. dunne actually was toe to toe with henry in a match seen! and his international performances are really amazing. he desevres much more merit…………and tottenham can offer him that.

  2. i think you mean terry and lescott. not terry and dunne :)

would be a good signing but too much like woodgate and dawson to be honest. we need a quick defender, richards please!

  3. This would be a terrible move, he is a slightly better than average defender at best, gets sent off too much and would be a big waste of 5million seeming as though we have good back up in Michael Dawson.

  4. I’m Getting desparate for Gods sake lets sign somebody. It just might start the ball rolling (no pun intended)

  5. shocking buy, lumbering lump with poor positional sense and terrible discipline record (think he is up there with keane et al with regards red cards). most of man citys conceded goals have something to do with this plodder. NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO THANKYOU!!
