Spurs have been linked with a summer move for £24.5m rated Belgian hotshot Dries Mertens.

The 31-year-old has bagged 46 goals in his last 72 Serie A outings for Napoli and has been linked with a move away for the last 12 months and according to talkSPORT, Spurs are interested along with North London rivals Arsenal.

Mertens has a clause in his contract meaning he is available for the reasonably modest figure of £24.5m and Napoli are bracing themselves for summer interest.

The article adds that Manchester United are long-term admirers of the forward, who can play through the middle of down the wings, but Arsenal and Spurs are now reportedly leading the chase.

The article goes on to say that Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport says both clubs are keeping close tabs on the situation with the opening of the transfer window imminent.

The Belgian arrived at Napoli from PSV back in 2013 and remains under contract until 2020.
