Spurs battle Chelsea for German youngster

According to talkSPORT Tottenham are chasing Hamburg star Jann-Fiete Arp but face competition from Chelsea for the youngsters signature.

The 18-year-old has broken into the first team at the Bundesliga club this year, scoring twice in 14 appearances and a host of top clubs are tracking him.

Tottenham are one of those after the striker, who recently revealed his idol is our own Harry Kane.

But, according to German publication Bild, Chelsea are also looking at trying to sign Arp this summer too.

The teenager will have just a year to run on his contract then and Hamburg could be forced to cash in on him.

Hamburg are struggling this season and look as though they could be relegated from the Bundesliga so they may well have to part with him whatever his contract situation

The article credits Bayern Munich asanother team chasing the German, having failed with an approach back in March.

Fernando Llorente has been a virtual flop so no doubt Mauricio Pochettino will be looking at strengthening his forward line and perhaps Arp’s admiration for Harry Kane he may have the trump card in luring the young forward to Hotspur Way.
