Liverpool are reported to have taken the lead in the race to sign Charlton teenager Jonjo Shelvey.
The 18-year-old is also wanted by Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal and made his debut for the Addicks as a 16-year-old.
Shelvey can operate as a winger, attacking midfielder or second striker and is valued at around £3million.
