Spurs battle it out for N’Zogbia?

Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa, Sunderland, Juventus and former club Newcastle are all circling Wigan winger Charles N’Zogbia.

That is what is being reported in today’s Daily Mirror. N’Zogbia is expected to leave Wigan in the summer for around £7million.

Birmingham City failed to land the Frenchman in January and is the number one target for Sunderland.

Is N’Zogbia the answer for Spurs, do we need another winger?

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Yes we do. I’ve been saying for ages the N’Zogbia would be a great signing. He’s strong, fast, good with both feet, great movement, works hard and scores. Lennon is simply too one dimensional.

  2. Better to beef up the defence, why do sides pay so much for attacking players, re. Torres, carrol etc who inevitably fail, when they leave their defence so vunerable? We also need better tactics when in possession around our oppositions box, we keep on loosing the ball there. Nothing wrong with our strikers, they are not getting decent ball.

    • Agree with a few things there – people neglect the defence. What is the point in changing the strikers when you are conceding the first goal with the first 31 mins of half your games. Our goals normally are scored from outside the box, which indicates problems with creating chances. However, I feel that we have more than enough at CB, and the defence is fine – apart from maybe LB cover. There is a problem with our strikers: 1) Lack of power in all 4. 2) Lack of pace in 3 of them, and Defoe does not use his pace well. 3) No half decent partnerships/chemistry amongst them. 4) Only Crouch has shown ability to play with VDV up front, but is still lacking certain qualities when played alone up there.

  3. The guy looks good, and certainly is effective with pace and skill. The only question mark is his "stepping stone" view of his employers. He could join us, and then Juve come knocking, and then he may kick up a stick to engineer the move (he has done some outrageous stuff before). However, on the pitch he looks the part. Do we need another winger? Well, this guy is versatile. I believe he can operate on either side, and has played wing back and wing. The price is right too (if he does not try to milk it). The other problem is that perhaps it may halt the opportunities of Rose and Townsend, who are gradually approaching the time to feature in the first team or leave. My biggest concern is that he may kick up a stink if not started often enough, but he could offer good competition for Lennon, who I think plays his best stuff when he feels pressure for his place.

  4. i would certainly get him if could. i believe we need another creative player with speed as i really dont think azza is all that. however when we dont play him we look even worse. i think n’zogbia gives us great options and flexability. i would like a.young but feel we’d get a much better deal on n’zogbia. the boy marin would be even better still. i’d prefer to buy a winger rather than cm player in parker. really dont see the need for him now sando has developed into a quality player. however i would sell palacios and jenas. the latter i would personally piggy back to his new club. i would get o’hara back in the fold. he’s a great player and can fill a number of roles for us if required, cm,dcm, acm,lw,lb…very useful. basically just spend our money on 2 new strikers and a right back ( unless walker is the man for next season ). we cant go into next season with hutton, corluka, crouch or pav as our first choice.

  5. Yep he would be heart for us. How many times has Lennon been injured and a player been asked to play out of position as cover… We DO need another winger and one that can play on both wings is perfect, but this should be the last one, other areas need strengthening.
