Spurs battle West Ham for Aston Villa star

According to the Express Spurs and London rivals West Ham are looking to sign Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish.

The article says the Hammers have held preliminary talks with Villa but have been initially put off by the £40million price-tag adding that Tottenham are keen but they are miles apart in terms of valuation with Villa, who lost in the Championship play-off final, are looking for.

The article goes on to say both clubs are watching the situation closely and they will reopen talks with Villa if they drop their lofty demands.

The Villains Chinese owner Tony Xia has sanctioned the sale of 22-year-old Grealish to balance the books at Villa Park after Villa were beaten 1-0 by Fulham last weekend and Xia is looking at his options with Villa going into the last year of their parachute payments, following their relegation from the top flight two years ago.

The article goes on to say that the sale of former England Under-21 international Grealish would boost the Villa’s finances but hinder their hopes of promotion next season.
Grealish has two years left on his current deal at the club.

  1. He’ll probably go to Wet Spam cos they wear the same colour shirt. Jack doesn’t seem to be the brightest!

  2. Nice player but not quite the quality Spurs need. Early days yet, lots of rumours but surprise, surprise, nothing concrete .. Is this a here we go again or are we actually negotiating for some proven quality. Lots of B+ players names being thrown around but no actual proven game changers. To state the obvious, we need to speculate (big time) to accumulate. With our new multi use stadium we will have many ways to generate
large amounts of revenue. Hopefully much of which will be directed onto the field and not into owners already
    deep pockets.We live in hope……
