Spurs bid “nowhere near” Villa’s valuation for Grealish, says Bruce

Steve Bruce has told the media Tottenham have made no bids anywhere near what the club is looking for to offload Jack Grealish.

The Evening Standard believes Spurs have made a bid of around £20m but Villa are hoping for a bigger transfer fee to allow the player his desired move.

The Villa manager addressed the media ahead of their opening game of the season press conference where he spoke of the ongoing saga surrounding their young midfielder.

Although Bruce insisted no player is up for sale, he added:

“Everyone in football, as we know has their price.”

“If someone wants to come and buy our players then they are going to have to find a premium which the owners are happy with,” Bruce said.

Spurs have been linked with the 22-year-old for the majority of this summer transfer window but no deal has been agreed to date.

Tottenham remain one of just two Premier League clubs not to sign a player this summer and only six days remain until the window shuts.
