Spurs captain directly responds to claims of dressing room unrest under Mourinho

Tottenham Hotspur recorded their first Premier League win of the new year against Norwich City on Wednesday night, as well as welcoming back their captain.

Hugo Lloris had been out with a dislocated elbow since October after sustaining the injury at the start of the 3-0 loss to Brighton.

However, the Frenchman finally returned to the starting line-up at home this week, playing under Jose Mourinho for the very first time.

This came just days after reports stating that Jose Mourinho was losing the Tottenham dressing room already in North London after a string of poor results. The Spurs stars were said to be frustrated with the Special One’s training regime (Daily Star).

However, the France and Tottenham captain has now directly addressed these rumours, labelling them as false.

Hugo claimed that the atmosphere is very positive around Hotspur Way at the moment, and the players are ready to fight for Mourinho.

He said (Standard): “I can tell you that it’s completely wrong. The atmosphere is great, we can feel all the players involved and ready to fight for the club, the new manager and his staff.

“We cannot control everything you [the media] say on the outside but I can confirm the atmosphere is very positive.”
