Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is reported to have blocked any chance of David James joining the club.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is a big fan of the England international, after working with him during his time in charge of Portsmouth, but Levy apparently feels that in Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini there is enough goalkeeping quality at White Hart Lane.
Pompey have already admitted that there could be a chance that James could leave during the transfer window, but it doesn’t appear if he’ll be on the way to Tottenham.
Have something to tell us about this article?
I think Levy made his second right decision.
Good call by Levy. James is not a solid goalkeeper, certainly no better than Cudicini, losing his head and concentration as he does, and is no spring chicken either.
If anything, get James as cover for Cudicini until Gomes is fit.
Sell James in January.
A 39 year old is a backwards step.
Experienced, yes, very, but also a liability.
But what do I know??
‘Arry knows best!

This is playing havoc with my Fantasy football team!
Harry’s having a tin bath !
Chairman Levy has made the right decision.
I agree with the chairman, good decision!!
while i like the quality that Harry has brought to the club, David James is too old and past his best, he is certainly no better than the quality we have.
Just look at his clumsy mistake against Birmingham which cost his side a point.
Levy is right not to sign James, Cudicini is good enough, we just need to show the faith the same way we did in Gomes last season and he came good : )
