Mauricio Pochettino was delighted after his Tottenham side earned a 1-1 draw at Arsenal to stretch their unbeaten start to the Premier League season to 11 games.

Spurs were up against it at half-time in the north London derby following Kevin Wimmer’s own goal but Harry Kane – making his first appearance since mid-September after an ankle injury – secured the visitors a point from the penalty spot.

“I’m very happy with the performance,” Pochettino told BT Sport 1.

“I think we played well at a very difficult place. Arsenal are on a very good run and have momentum.

“Our players deserve full credit today – they were fantastic.

“We showed big, big character to get back into the game.”

Meanwhile, Kane hopes he convinced England boss Gareth Southgate he is fit to face Scotland in next week’s World Cup qualifier.

“I’m ready if called upon by England,” said Kane. “I’m feeling good and the ankle feels fine.”

  1. Brilliant a very different team to their last game, keep it up lads and the Arsenal goal was definitely off side I'm please to say it was not Arsenal who scored, and it was a bit disappointing to see an own goal

  2. Loving Whingers post match comments. Didn't see his totally offside goal but did manage to see our penalty as a terrible decision and an apparent elbow on Walcott from Big Vic that absolutely no press release has referenced at all in a match report. Was utterly terrified thus morning but although we have a load of injuries, a bench that boasts mainly accademy players and arguably 3 or 4 unfit players having to start today it just proves what an unbelievably over rated and average team Arsenal are. Hopefully they get a nice easy draw in the CL against another European power house like Ludogorets so they can really assert themselves as a BIG club once again. Hahahahaha I'm bloody loving today :-D
