Spurs chase Spanish youngster

Tottenham are set to enter the race for highly-rated Spanish winger Mikel Oyarzabal, according to a report from talkSPORT.

The article says the 20-year-old flyer, who currently plays for Real Sociedad, has been in superb form in La Liga so far this season, having netted seven goals in 11 appearances in all competitions.

Oyarzabal’s good form has led to speculation linking the talented Spaniard with a big-money move to the Premier League, and talkSPORT say Spurs eyeing a potential January swoop.

The article says that according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Mauricio Pochettino will launch a January bid for Oyarzabal as the Argentinean tactician seeks to add further attacking quality to his ranks.

It does say that Sociedad are unwilling to part with their prized asset, meaning the north Londoners will most likely have to pay over the odds to secure the youngster during the mid-season window.

He’s certainly a talent and fits the remit of the age and type of player we need. Njie and to an extent Nkoudou haven’t worked out, and it looks like he’ll cost a bit. Hard to say whether he’d be a worthwhile signing considering Pochettino’s preference not to use wingers. Let us know your thoughts on this. Is he someone we need?
