Spurs chasing Spain star Llorente

Spurs are being linked with Spain and Athletic Bilbao frontman Fernando Llorente.

Llorente has bagged nine goals this season for teh Basque outfit, as well as impressing in the national set up in Fernando Torres’ absence.

Llorente has been targeted by a number of Europe’s top clubs, with Spurs joining Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United in tracking the man known as ‘Superman’.

And with Robbie Keane set for a January exit, Redknapp is keen on a forward to take Spurs to the next level and has aksed Daniel Levy to sanction a bid for Llorente.

With Athletic not in European competition this season, Llorente would be available for Spurs in the knockout phases of the Champions league having secured their progression from the group stages already.

The fee mentioned is in the region of £15million, but with his buyout clause double that, it could require significantly more to convince Athletic to sell.
