Spurs confirm away fixture for pre-season with around 800 fans able to attend

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the addition of a further fixture for their pre-season schedule.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side will make the short trip east to face Colchester United at the JobServe Community Stadium on Wednesday 21 July with kick-off at 7.45pm

Spurs supporters are able to purchase tickets from 10am tomorrow morning through the Colchester United official website with around 800 tickets made available for away supporters.

Colchester, who are managed by former West Ham United midfielder Hayden Mullins finished 20th in League Two last season.

The last time Tottenham made the trip to the JobServe Community Stadium was in the Carabao Cup third round back in 2019 when Mauricio Pochettino’s side were the victims of an upset after the U’s won 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out after Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura missed from the spot.

Tottenham have so far confirmed five fixtures as part of their preparations for the campaign ahead and will also face Leyton Orient, MK Dons, Chelsea and Arsenal.

It will be great to see 800 or so fans given the opportunity to watch Nuno’s Spurs side in action in what will be their second pre-season friendly.

With many of the international players expected to sit out the opening fixtures, it will represent a brilliant opportunity for some of the fringe or academy players to impress the new head coach.
