Spurs confirm Dele’s absence and it isn’t good news

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the reason why Dele Alli is not featuring in today’s match.

The midfielder was not named in the Spurs squad to face Inter Milan in the final pre-season match.

Spurs have now confirmed through their official Twitter page that Dele has suffered a hamstring injury and is unavailable to take part in the International Champions Cup fixture at the club’s state of the art stadium.

The 23-year-old had featured in each of Tottenham’s previous pre-season fixtures but will now potentially face a spell on the sidelines.

Dele has a history of suffering from hamstring issues having missed ten matches over the past two seasons with similar injuries (transfermarkt).

Hamstring injuries are graded from 1-3 with one being the least severe. Even if Dele has suffered a grade one strain, he could be out for three weeks with complete rest of the muscle recommended from sporting activity (Physio Room).
