Spurs confirm departure of two senior players

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the departure of both Danny Rose and Paulo Gazzaniga following the conclusion of their contracts.

Rose was Tottenham’s currently active longest serving player but fell out of favour with former boss Jose Mourinho which saw the England international left out of the Premier League squad.

When Sergio Reguilon arrived at Tottenham last summer from Real Madrid, he was handed Rose’s number three shirt.

Rose had been training with the development squad rather than the first team this season as part of his exclusion from Mourinho’s plans.

He had been at Tottenham for almost 14 years, having joined as a teenager from Leeds United.

The left-back made 214 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, scoring 10 goals.

Gazzaniga spent last season out on loan at Spanish outfit Elche, having dropped down the goalkeeping pecking order behind Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart.

The Argentine made 37 appearances in all competitions, having been a regular when Hugo Lloris was sidelined with an elbow injury.
