Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that their FA Cup third round tie against Morecambe will be held on Sunday 9 January, 2022.
Spurs will face the League One opponents at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what will be their first cup tie to be played at the North London venue since the fifth round penalty shoot out defeat to Norwich City in March of last year.
The match has not been selected for live television coverage in the UK, but could be picked up by overseas television broadcasters.
Last season, Spurs made it to the fifth round of the competition under Jose Mourinho where they lost 5-4 to Everton at Goodison Park after extra time to prolong Tottenham’s wait for FA Cup glory for yet another year.
Tottenham’s last taste of success in the competition came in 1991 when Terry Venables’ side beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 at Wembley courtesy of a Paul Stewart goal and Des Walker putting through his own net.
