Spurs confirm details of who they will play first on South Korean pre-season tour

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the details of their first match ahead of their upcoming pre-season tour of South Korea on the club’s official Instagram channel.

Antonio Conte’s side will play two exhibition matches in the Coupang Play Series starting with a game against Team K-League at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Wednesday 13 July.

Spurs confirmed in February that they had chosen South Korea as the destination for their international pre-season tour ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

It is the first time since 2019 when the pandemic began that the north London club have been able to head overseas during pre-season.

It will be the third time in which the club has made the trip to the East Asian nation, having previously taken part in the Peace Cup in 2005, along with a promotional trip in 2017.

The pre-season tour of South Korea will be a great opportunity for not only the fans in the country who adore Heung-min Son to see the player in action but also for the club to continue to increase their supporter base in Asia.

The pandemic put the brakes on clubs being able to play pre-season matches overseas in all four corners of the world, in what is likely to be a very attractive commercial opportunity for Daniel Levy.
