Spurs confirm exact date and time for postponed North London Derby vs Arsenal

Tottenham have confirmed their north London derby fixture at home to Arsenal will take place on Thursday, May 12 following the completion of the Premier League’s latest broadcast selections.

The fixture was initially due to take place in mid-January but was postponed at the Gunners’ request after a Covid-19 outbreak in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

But a long-awaited date of May 12 has been set for the encounter at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – 10 days before the end of the campaign – with a kick-off time of 7.45 pm.

Tottenham and Arsenal are both locked in a battle for a place in the top four, with the derby expected to be a crucial decider in who makes next season’s Champions League.

Tottenham recently leapfrogged their counterparts into the final spot after crushing Newcastle 5-1, though Arteta’s men still need to travel to Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The date has finally been confirmed and it has been a long time coming since that frustrating postponement in January.

With the way things have been going, the match will likely be a crucial one in deciding who reaches the Champions League so a lot will be riding on that.

Spurs just have to keep winning to keep the pressure up before worrying about the fixture next month.
