Spurs confirm midfielder has signed a new contract extension

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that young midfielder George Marsh has signed a new two-year contract at the club.

Marsh was due to be out of contract in North London this summer but has now put pen to paper on a contract extension until 2021.

The 20-year-old impressed during the club’s pre-season tour of the USA when he caught the eye with his no-nonsense midfield displays against AC Milan and Roma.

He has been training with the first team for the vast majority of the season and made his first-team debut in the 7-0 FA Cup win at Tranmere Rovers in January and was also named in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the Champions League final against Liverpool in Madrid.

Marsh has followed in the footsteps of Oliver Skipp and Luke Amos in being promoted to Pochettino’s first-team. Amos made his Premier League debut in the opening match of the season at Newcastle but saw his campaign cruelly ended by a nasty knee injury.
