Spurs confirm they are investigating incident involving first-team player

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly investigating the circumstances behind Serge Aurier’s latest Instagram post after the star appeared to have broken the UK Government’s lockdown guidelines for the second time.

Aurier found himself in hot water last month after the right-back posted a video of himself and Moussa Sissoko training in close proximately, ignoring the government’s guidelines not to exercise with anyone outside of their own household.

Both Sissoko and Aurier issued an apology for their actions and vowed to make a financial donation to the NHS to help them in the battle against COVID-19 (Football.London).

However, it doesn’t look as if the Ivory Coast international has learned his lesson as he took to Instagram again on Tuesday to post a picture of himself after receiving a haircut.

Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has now revealed that Spurs are examining the circumstances behind the right-back’s Instagram post before making a decision on it.

In fairness to Aurier, it looks like almost all footballers have had a haircut and I doubt all of them would have done it by themselves at home. However, it is unbelievably stupid of him to post it on social media, especially after the incident last month. The club will have no choice but to punish him if it is found that he broke the lockdown rules.
