Spurs confirm they have changed their plan over next season’s kit

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that they will continue to wear the current Nike playing kit for the remainder of the season against Aston Villa this season followed by the trip to Leicester City on Sunday.

The original plan was for the players to debut the 2021/22 kit this evening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the visit of Dean Smith’s side.

Instead, the kit will be unveiled later this month after the Premier League season has come to a close.

Some other clubs who wear a Nike-manufactured kit including Chelsea have already worn next season’s kit in their last two matches against Leicester City in the FA Cup and Premier League respectively.

The club have in recent years always decided to unveil their kit outside of the playing season.

Tottenham agreed a fifteen-year kit deal with Nike which is worth £30million a season to the North Londoners and will run until 2033 (The Sun).

The club confirmed on the official site: “The launch of our new Nike 2021/22 home kit will now take place later this month and, as such, we shall continue to wear this season’s home kit for the remainder of the season.”
