Spurs confirm they will face European side in second match of pre-season tour of South Korea

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they will play Sevilla in their second pre-season match of the club’s tour of South Korea this summer.

The fixture will take place at the Suwon World Cup Stadium on Saturday 16 July, 8pm kick-off (local time).

Sevilla finished fourth in La Liga this season and have former Spur Erik Lamela among their squad.

Spurs had earlier revealed that they would face Team K League – a selection of the best players from Korea’s professional league – in the first match of the Coupang Play Series tour on Wednesday 13 July.

The upcoming trip will be the north Londoners third visit to South Korea, having successfully competed in the Peace Cup in 2005 and taken part in a promotional trip in 2017.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte will be looking for his players to have a successful pre-season campaign, which will be his first since taking of the club in November of last year.

Tottenham had originally planned to visit South Korea in 2020 but saw their plans thwarted following the global pandemic caused by Covid-19 (Football.London).
