Tottenham have confirmed that tickets for Sunday’s postponed match against Burnley will remain valid for the rearranged fixture and free coach travel will be on offer for supporters making the trip to Lancashire.
The Premier League encounter at Turf Moor was called off due to adverse weather conditions, with a high volume of snowfall making the game unplayable.
The match was due to start at 2 pm, but despite efforts from ground staff to make the pitch’s condition playable, it was called off just 50 minutes before the first whistle.
A new date for the match has not yet been confirmed with clubs now due to enter a hectic stretch of fixtures over the festive period.
Tottenham have since confirmed that tickets for Sunday’s match will remain valid for the rescheduled fixture, while the club has also offered fans free coach travel to Turf Moor as a ‘gesture of good will’. Refunds will also be issued to those who want them.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Following the postponement of yesterday’s Premier League fixture at Turf Moor, the Club can confirm that match tickets will remain valid for the rearranged fixture.
“Supporters are advised to retain their original match ticket if possible, including those who had already entered the stadium yesterday as these tickets will be reactivated.
“As a gesture of goodwill, we are also pleased to confirm that the Club will offer free coach travel for supporters attending the rearranged fixture.”
Spurs Web Opinion
It was quite disappointing to see the fixture called off and it will now hand schedulers a headache to fit the game in somewhere else. This is the correct and only decision from the club as the postponement was so unexpected.
