No Spurs deal for Wickham insists Keane

Ipswich Town have denied claims that hot prospect Connor Wickham could be on his way to Tottenham.

Reports had suggested that the fact that the young Spurs duo of Andros Townsend and Jake Livermore are on loan at Portman Road, could be part of a wider deal which could bring Wickham to White Hart Lane.

Keane said: “It’s nonsense, absolute nonsense.

“If you think that’s part of the deal for us getting young boys in, you don’t know me that well. We don’t need to work that way, we don’t have to work that way.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Shell. That would be a bad move. If we had have had the same attitude with Bale, and just bought him this, or last season, we’d have been shelling out 15-25mil. As it was, we bought him for 5mil (rising to 10mil).

So doing a deal later runs the risk of shelling out tens of millions more than you have to.

  2. Firstly Spurs would never pay 15-25 million for a player as that money is no longer available since the down-turn so toddle on back to Championship Manager Mal if we did not buy Bale when we did we would never have got him, as for you Shell you need to seriously grow up, do you even think about what you say before you post it. If we do not buy these players when they are rough diamonds we have no chance of getting them when they are the finished article as these players aim to play for Ushited, Chelski etc.
