Spurs defender joins Bristol City on loan

Steven Caulker - Tottenham news

Tottenham Hotspur defender Steven Caulker has joined Bristol City on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 18-year-old recently made his first-team debut for Spurs in the Carling Cup the defeat to Arsenal.

Caulker’s loan deal falls under the category of a youth loan and will still be allowed to train with Spurs and play reserve-team matches.  A recall clause has also been inserted that becomes active after 28 days.

Bristol City boss Keith Millen told BBC Radio Bristol: “He’s very athletic, quick and has got a fantastic attitude.

“I think Danny Rose has put in a good word for us and it’s good that we’ve got a good working relationship now with Tottenham.

“Tottenham have got high hopes for him to become a Premier League defender and hopefully we can improve him and he can do well for us.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Can someone tell me please why he is going on loan? When we only have one fit centre back at the club. I am not saying he is the new Ledley king but he is all we got at the moment
