Tottenham Hotspur youngster Yuri Berchiche has returned to Spain to join Real Valladolid on a permanent deal.
The 19-year-old left back moved to White Hart Lane in June 2007 and failed to make an appearance for the first team. He was named as Player of the Tournament when Tottenham Under-18’s won the Eurofoot Tournament in Belgium in August of the same year.
Berchiche did experience first team football in England when he joined Cheltenham Town on loan in April 2009, where he went on to make seven appearances. He is most notably remembered by Cheltenham fans for his tackle on Arsenal loanee Henri Lansbury during a match against Scunthorpe, which left Lansbury with a suspected broken leg. The Spaniard was not sent-off by the referee, but was instead hauled off by his own boss, Martin Allen.
