Spurs defender reveals what Jose Mourinho has told players about aims for next season

According to Ryan Sessegnon, Jose Mourinho wants the Tottenham squad to push on next year in his first full season with the North London outfit.

While Sessegnon himself sees the top two or three as a good aim, he added that Mourinho is looking to win the title with Spurs.

Spurs are currently eighth in the Premier League table with nine games left to play this season, although it remains unclear as to whether they will get the chance to complete them.

The Lilywhites remain seven points off the top four and 16 behind Man City in second, while they are also now on exactly half Liverpool’s tally of 82.

That leaves Tottenham will a huge mountain to climb in order to push on and compete at the top of the table next season, although Mourinho does have a reputation of winning big trophies.

During the latest instalment of the #FootballUnited campaign, Sessegnon said (relayed by the Star): “As a young player, it’s a manager that you want to work with because they know so much about the game and to help you improve you as a player, so it’s a no brainer.

“The gaffer wants to push on next year, I can’t see why we won’t be pushing for the top 2 or 3.

“We’ve got a very strong squad, if we can keep everyone like the key players, it’s a strong squad. If we can add some bits to it we can go all the way and I know the gaffer is looking to win title.”
