Spurs defender reveals what the team said to each other before Newcastle win

Tottenham Hotspur made it three wins from their last three as they beat Newcastle 1-0 at the weekend.

Spurs’ Heung Min Son scored an 83rd minute winner to grab all three points in similar late fashion to Tottenham’s wins against both Watford and Fulham.

These nine points have seen Tottenham bridge the gap between third and the title favourites Liverpool and Man City.

With Liverpool drawing back to back games against Leicester and West Ham, along with Man City’s loss to Newcastle, Spurs are now only five points off the top.

The Lilywhites also have Harry Kane and Dele Alli inching towards their respective returns to action, which will be a huge boost to Spurs’ title challenging campaign.

Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez has now revealed exactly what the squad said to each other before the vital win against Newcastle, without the goal scoring talents of Kane and Alli in the mix.

Sanchez said (Mirror): “I enjoy it more when I help to keep a clean sheet, like in this game. Before the game, we talked about the physicality and that we had to be ready in every single moment of the match to help the team. I think we did that.”
