Tottenham fans have been reacting to the gossip in the Sunday press claiming that Real Madrid are prepared to sell Gareth Bale for £85million.
According to the report, the current European champions are frustrated by Bale’s injury problems and are ready to cash in on the former Spurs player with a £85million price tag.
We all remember what Bale brought to our team under AVB, but the way he held out for the move to Madrid still leaves a sour taste in my mouth. We’ve come a long way since that team and are a different animal under Pochettino.
Spurs fans have taken to Twitter on their thoughts of whether they would want to see the Welshman back in a lilywhite shirt considering his price tag, £350,000-a-week wage and his proneness to injury.
Here’s a flavour of what fans have been saying.
Gareth Bale wants to come back? nah he can do one

Lads I’m sorry but you’re absolutely bananas if you don’t wanna see Gareth Bale and Harry Kane wearing a Spurs shirt on the same field. #THFC

Bale isn’t coming back. 85 million is an outrageous some to pay.

Seriously, I’m reading Spurs fans wouldn’t take Bale back. Really?? We can afford it and it will make us stronger. Do we want to win something or not?

What is all this crazy bale talk?? I’d give a left bollock to see him back in a spurs shirt

Would be great to have Bale back but for the amount of time he spends getting glued together we’d have to reduce his pay a lot.

Forget that we can’t afford him but seeing Spurs fans saying they wouldn’t take Bale is just plain funny. Absolute jokers

If bale is available then I think spurs should break the bank for him. Sell lamela and use that money. Attack of dele bale Kane and eriksen would be amazing. New stadium and ambition to match #coys

Unless #Bale or his agent are mugs any move to #Spurs will be like Ade, with RM paying half his wages (or more!)

So many spurs fans don't want Bale back. They must be the fans that don't want to win anything. Bale is world class player, he has won everything at Madrid. What he would bring to our squad and help the youngsters at the club. Bring him back and pay the money.
