Most Spurs fans will love what Harry Kane has said as they enter key phase of the season

Tottenham Hotspur have a real fight on their hands to finish this season with any glimmer of success, as they aim to both progress in the Champions League and book their spot for next year.

Spurs have fallen away from title contention in recent weeks, plummeting down into a fight for the top four.

With the lead they had over the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and United, Tottenham should never be in the position they find themselves in.

They currently sit just one point above Arsenal, three above United, and four above Chelsea, with eight games left to play.

It would be a disaster if they were to lose Champions League football just as they move into their brand new stadium.

However, Harry Kane has claimed that he feels any chance he gets will go in at the moment, ahead of the business end of the season.

Kane usually has one purple patch through a campaign, and it certainly wouldn’t do Tottenham’s top four hopes, or his own golden boot hopes any harm if it were to happen now.

Kane said (Football London): “I feel in that zone where if I get a chance I’ll put it away. You go through spells like that during a season.

“Since I’ve come back from injury I feel sharp, I’ve got a lot more energy. That’s when I feel like I’m at my best.

“Of course I’m going to miss chances in training and games but I feel like I’m going to score more than I miss.

“It’s the business end of the season where all the big games and high-pressure situations are. I never want to be injured but I had that break and I’ve used that to be mentally fresh.

“The next three or four months, I’m ready to go.”
