Report: Who Heung-min Son voted for in the best FIFA awards

Tottenham Hotspur had an amazing time of it in the 2018/19 season under Mauricio Pochettino, both domestically and in Europe.

Spurs were able to secure another top-four spot in the Premier League to ensure another season in the Champions League and the funding that comes with it.

This was a huge achievement yet again for a club like Spurs who are looking to grow year-on-year, which often costs money.

However, the biggest achievement of the season, and perhaps the recent history of the club, Spurs qualified for their first-ever Champions League Final.

They escaped a group containing Barcelona, Inter Milan, and PSV, before beating Borussia Dortmund, Man City, and Ajax across two legs to make the final in Madrid.

As a result, it won’t surprise many to see some Spurs names being mentioned in the player of the year and coach of the year awards at the FIFA ceremony last night.

However, the likes of Poch and Kane missed out on the titles, as Jurgen Klopp and Lionel Messi scooped up the main prizes.

Having said this, Spurs fans will love who Heung-min Son gave his votes to. As captain of South Korea, Sonny had a say in where the awards went, and he certainly had his Spurs shirt on when writing down those names.

Son went for Harry Kane as the player of the year and Mauricio Pochettino as coach of the year.

We love you, Son.
