Spurs fans won’t like what this report says about their summer transfer plans

No matter whether Tottenham finish in the top four, or whether they make the Champions League final, they have done extremely well to compete at the very top this season.

This comes after Spurs failed to bring in a single signing across the entire campaign, while also losing Mousa Dembele and having to contend with injuries, stadium delays, and losing Son on two separate occasions.

Spurs fans would now be hoping that such a positive Champions League run would only lead to increased transfer funds for Pochettino, as well as wages for the likes of Eriksen and Alderweireld.

However, a report out of the Telegraph claims that Spurs will yet again be punching above their weight this summer, as they will spend less than their Premier League rivals.

The Telegraph say that their sources indicate Spurs will only sign two or three new players in the summer transfer window. They also claim that Tottenham could spend around £100m, but imply that will only happen if first-team players like Eriksen or Alderweireld are sold.

They list Barcelona’s Andre Gomes, Nice’s Yousef Atal, Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish as potential incomings.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I for one would be disappointed if Tottenham only introduced two or three new signings in the summer. I believe that the likes of Kane, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Eriksen, and Son are reaching their peak, and Tottenham should invest big to push for titles while they can. I also think that there is plenty of deadwood to clear out, raising funds and making room for new players. I think we need a new striker, new centre back, new playmaker, new winger, and a whole lot of depth in the squad.
