Spurs look to fend off Eriksen interest

Tottenham Hotspur are set to offer Christian Eriksen a new contract to ward off any interest from rivals.

The Mirror claims that the Tottenham hierarchy will look to extend the Dane’s deal by a further two years to 2018.

After losing Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Rafael van der Vaart in recent years, Tottenham fans will be determined that the club do everything in their power to keep the 23-year-old at White Hart Lane.

Eriksen has been a massive hit since his £11million move from Ajax in 2013 and has popped up with many a crucial winner in a Spurs shirt.

It’s important that the club look to stop the trend of our key players leaving the club, but at the same time we need to be pushing on for Champions League football if we are to be holding onto our stars.

  1. Not sure I agree with Eriksen being a massive hit since signing.Last season he did chip in with a number of good goals and was one of three players to get into double figures. However this term he is slower off the mark and his main problem remains flitting in and out of matches, particularly against physical opposition.I still regret we apparently didn't move for Cabaye who I think would have complimented him well as Eriksen just doesn't impose himself enough. My main problem with him though is,for free kick specialist his corners are awful, almost always failing to clear the first defender.
