Spurs find out first three potential Champions League quarter final opponents

Tottenham Hotspur can enjoy their sensational win over Borussia Dortmund for a few more days, but soon eyes must turn to the next round.

Spurs beat the Germans home and away for the second consecutive year in the competition, winning 4-0 on aggregate.

This sent Tottenham purring through to the quarter finals, a round they have not reached since 2011 under Harry Redknapp.

However, the club has never progressed further than this stage, so the semi finals will be a real aim for this current crop of talented Spurs players.

The positive news is that there doesn’t seem to be a stand out favourite for the title this season, with the likes of Real Madrid and PSG already tumbling out.

But who could Tottenham face in the quarters?

Ajax bested Real Madrid 4-1 away from home on Tuesday to book their place in the next round.

Porto grabbed a late penalty in extra time to narrowly see of Roma last night too. But the big news was Man United overturning a two away goal deficit last night by beating PSG 3-1 away from home to qualify for the quarters.

This means Spurs, Ajax, Porto, and Man United are the first four names in the pot, with Tottenham now able to draw teams from their own country.

The likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Lyon, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Man City, and Schalke all still have the chance to join these four names.
