Spurs find out who they will face in the FA Cup third round

Tottenham Hotspur have been drawn at home to Burnley in the third round of the FA Cup after the draw was made this afternoon ahead of the second-round tie between Eastleigh and Reading.

The North Londoners were ball number 40 in the hat and they will certainly be hoping to go further than last season when they suffered a hugely disappointing exit in the fifth round under Antonio Conte away at Sheffield United.

Can Spurs win the FA Cup this season?

Tottenham will be looking to add to their past success in this year’s edition of the competition, having hoisted the iconic trophy on eight separate occasions.

However, Spurs last tasted FA Cup glory in 1991 and have not lifted a major trophy since 2008, which has put pressure on chairman Daniel Levy and the rest of the club’s board to back head coach Ange Postecoglou in the January transfer window in a bid to end the club’s silverware drought.

The fourth round of the competition is scheduled to take place across the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 6 and 7 January 2024.
