Spurs first team star likes tweet about him possibly signing a new contract

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted multiple times over the last few weeks that the transfer window being open affected several members of his squad.

This is partly due to the fact that a few Tottenham stars are into the final years of their deals with the club and their future thus looks uncertain.

One of these players is centre half Jan Vertonghen, who has made no secret of his desire to sign an extension with the club.

The defender has now dropped another huge hint on social media. Football.London picked up on the fact that the Belgian ‘liked’ a post from a Spurs fan asking if Vertonghen and defensive partner.

It looks like the Belgian has since spotted the fact that fans picked up on it and seems to have undone it.

Vertonghen has been through a lot including the Sherwood years and still decided to stick around at the club. He has been one of our most consistent performers over the last few years and will go down as one of the club’s modern-day legends. Looking at his fitness, it certainly looks like he is still good enough at the top level. So extending his contract should be a no brainer for the club
