Spurs goalkeeper seals loan move away on deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that academy goalkeeper Josh Oluwayemi has joined non-league side Maidenhead United on a loan deal until January.

Oluwayemi joined the club’s academy back in 2017 and has made huge strides in the three years since.

The teenager has represented England at Under-15 and Under-16 levels and has also been named on the bench for England’s Under-18s (tottenhamhotspur.com).

The shot-stopper made his Under-18 Premier League debut for Spurs in the 2017/18 season and served as second choice to Jonathan De Bie for the majority of that campaign.

The Waltham Forest-born youngster went on to make 17 starts for the Under-18s in the subsequent season as Spurs finished just fell short in their quest for the league title.

The 19-year-old is now set to undertake his first loan spell away from Spurs at Maidenhead United who play in the National League and will be hoping to come back to North London with more first-team experience under his belt.
