Tottenham half-time ratings vs Bournemouth

Guglielmo Vicario: Sharp off his line as always with a couple of routine stops. Watching Vicario is an absolute joy because you always feel secure in his ability. 6.5

Pedro PorroNot as involved as usual in the first 45, with most of the play coming down Tottenham’s left. Still offered good energy at the back when defending against the break. 6

Emerson Royal: Always looks a little nervy in the centre-back role, but he played well in the first half. Lots of front-foot defending and used his pace well to cover in behind. 6

Ben Davies: Nothing too much to speak of from Davies in the first 45. Lost his man from a cross or two which he needs to watch out for though. Important block at the end of the half though. 6

Destiny Udogie: As good as earned Spurs a goal by tracking back and stopping a dangerous counter by Solanke. Was also a constant threat in an attacking sense down the left. 7

Rodrigo Bentancur: Oozes class in midfield and it is no wonder Spurs play better when he starts. Won the ball back to start the attack that led to Tottenham’s goal. 7.5

Pape Matar Sarr: What a way to sign off before leaving for AFCON. With the Bournemouth defence stepping off Pape, he chanced a rare shot and found the bottom corner. His general play was also superb on and off the ball. Such a shame he picked up an injury. Fingers crossed on that. 8

Giovani Lo Celso: Worked hard to free the ball up to assist Pape Matar Sarr. Impressed in a more attacking role to fill the void of Maddison and Kulusevski, with lots of pressing and energy. At times he can be a little chaotic when he needs to calm down and play the simple ball though 6

RicharlisonA couple of half chances that went high and wide. Struggled to make the ball stick at times when trying to bring others into play. Room for improvement in the second 45. 5

Heung-min Son: Pretty understated first half. Saw a lot of the ball but seemed reluctant to take on his man at times. Wasted a good chance with a skewed shot, and also hesitated during a promising break when he should have shot early or passed to Johnson. 5

Brennan Johnson: A couple of early runs down the right, using his pace well, but drifted out of the game. Needs to get his head up in the final third more at times. 5

Substitutes:

Oliver Skipp: Came on for the injured Pape Matar Sarr. Struggled to get up to the pace of the game. 5
