Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty-five minutes of action against Brentford.

Tottenham head into the break against Thomas Frank’s side mirroring the frustrations of the Brighton match with Antonio Conte’s side struggling to impose themselves in the final third of the pitch.

Hugo Lloris: Was nearly beaten by a Toney header which came back off the crossbar. 5.

Emerson Royal: Has not been able to create an attacking outlet down the right with most of his duties coming in his own half. 5.

Cristian Romero: Has got stuck in with a couple of strong tackles, with Spurs offering little in attack he has not been able to get forward as much as he usually likes. 6.

Eric Dier: Has been kept busy defending dangerous set-pieces from Christian Eriksen. 5.

Ben Davies: The Welshman has been busy with the bombardment of crosses into the box. 5.

Ryan Sessegnon: Just like Royal down the other flank, has not been able to create width with Spurs pegged into their own half.  5.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Has failed to influence proceedings in the middle of the pitch. 5.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Slightly more lively than Bentancur, but again has not been able to pull the strings. 5.

Dejan Kulusevski: Has not been given much time on the ball by Jensen which has left him facing his own goal for the majority of the half. 5.

Heung-min Son: Had one decent run where he was felled on the edge of the box. 5.

Harry Kane: Struggled to keep possession of the ball in the opening part of the game, his first attempt on goal came in the 38th minute which was a weak chip. 5.
