Spurs half time ratings vs Burnley – Kane from the spot

Tottenham head into the break against Mike Jackson’s side currently 1-0 ahead courtesy of a Harry Kane penalty on the brink of half time following VAR intervention.

Hugo Lloris: Saved well from Cornet to deny Burnley an opener against the run of play. 6.

Emerson Royal: Came close to scoring with an effort from long range. Needs to do better with his decision-making with the ball in the opposition half. 6.

Davinson Sanchez: Making his second start in the space of four days after previously no starts in three months. Still guilty of making the odd sloppy pass and was lucky to be bailed out by Lloris after he failed to track the run of Cornet. 6.

Eric Dier: Has looked to get forward and play the odd long ball, rarely called into action at the other end. 6.

Ben Davies: Has been busy down the left, overlapping Sessegnon on occasions and joining in with attacks. 6.

Ryan Sessegnon: Played a lovely floated cross onto the head of Harry Kane which was cleared near the goalline. Linked up well with Moura only to see his final pass let him down 6.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Has battled well in the middle but with Burnley having so many men behind the ball, it has been difficult to influence play. 6.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Has started where he left off against Arsenal. Getting his foot in to win back possession and looking to get the ball forward. 7.

Lucas Moura: A lively start from the Brazilian who replaced Kulusevski in the team, his pace and driving runs have caused the Clarets problems. 7.

Heung-min Son: Tested Pope with a near-post effort after ten minutes, but has struggled to get on the ball regularly. 6.

Harry Kane: Had his first glimpse of goal when he headed a Moura cross straight at Pope, his second effort was closer only to see it cleared near the line. Has a brilliant opportunity just before half time but missed the target – had his blushes saved with a late penalty. 6.
