Spurs half time ratings vs Chelsea – Costly from Cuti

Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty-five minutes of action in this evening’s Premier League clash against Chelsea in North London.

Ange Postecoglou’s side head into the break currently level at 1-1.

Guglielmo Vicario: Produced a brilliant outstretched save to deny Jackson. Thought he had saved Palmer’s penalty only to see it go in off the post. 6.

Pedro Porro: Unleashed a decent volley which was saved by Sanchez. Has his goalkeeper to thank after he gave the ball away which led to Jackson’s chance to equalise. Sterling is causing him plenty of issues. 5.

Cristian Romero: After looking like a much calmer version of himself, he showed petulance to kick out at Silva and could have seen red. Something he did minutes later following VAR intervention. 5.

Micky van de Ven: Looks set for a long spell on the sidelines after pulling up with a hamstring injury. 6.

Destiny Udogie: Booked for going to ground with a two-footed challenge and on another day, could have been sent off. 5.

Pape Matar Sarr: With Spurs having gone down to ten men, most of the game he has spent tracking back. Booked. 6.

Yves Bissouma: Like many, started brighly but is now more focused on trying to help the makeshift defensive backline. Booked. 6.

James Maddison: Played a brilliant cross-field ball which set Kulusevski clear for the opener. Brought off with what looks like an ankle injury. 6.

Dejan Kulusevski: Opened the scoring with a brilliant goal, admittedly with some good fortune but he cut in well and his shot deflected in. 6.

Heung-min Son: Was inches away from making the score 2-0 only to be ruled offside. 6.

Brennan Johnson: Came into the side in place of Richarlison and looked lively up until he had to be replaced by Dier. 5.

Eric Dier: Brought on for his first appearance following Romero’s red card. Made a key interception to deny Chelsea a second. 6.

Emerson Royal: Playing as a right-sided centre-half. Took up a good position to clear from near his own goalline. 6.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Another first half replacement ater Maddison’s injury. 6.
