Spurs half time ratings vs Crystal Palace – Kane to the rescue

Tottenham head into the break against Roy Hodgson’s side currently 1-0 ahead courtesy of Harry Kane’s goal.

Fraser Forster: Forced into action for the first time on 27 minutes from an Olise shot. 5.

Pedro Porro: His set-piece deliveries from corners have been decent and did well to provide the assist for Kane’s goal, thankfully he has not been tested defensively 6.

Cristian Romero: Came close to opening the scoring when his header from a corner crashed against the crossbar. 5.

Emerson Royal: Back in the starting eleven following injury and in the unfamiliar position of right-sided central defence. 5.

Clement Lenglet: Showed good defensive covering to deny Schlupp a shot on goal after Skipp gave the ball away. 5.

Ben Davies: Is being given the licence to get forward down the left in Tottenham’s system but is not having the impact in the final third that Perisic has shown recently. 4.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Shot wide after a nice link-up with Harry Kane but once again he needs to be doing much more to act as the conduit between defence and attack to get things moving. 4.

Oliver Skipp: Gave the ball away in a dangerous area after fourteen minutes which nearly gifted Palace a clear opportunity. Played another dodgy pass ten minutes later which led to a free-kick. 4.

Heung-min Son: Plenty of running, but has had no attacking threat compared to the Liverpool match. 5.

Richarlison: Back in the side after scoring his first Premier League goal at Anfield last weekend. He really needs to stop trying to win fouls for little things which never goes his way 4.

Harry Kane: Played a delightful through ball to Hojbjerg for the Dane’s chance on goal. Has had no service whatsoever from his team-mates until just before half-time when he linked up beautifully with Porro. 6.
