Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty five minutes of action against Leeds United this afternoon in the Premier League.
Tottenham head into the break with a three-goal advantage courtesy of effort from Matt Doherty, Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane.
Hugo Lloris: Looked beaten when Koch’s effort cannoned off his post, dived bravely at his near post to deny a James tap-in. 6.
Matt Doherty: Kept a nice cool head to score the opening goal having made a brilliant run into the box. 7.
Cristian Romero: His marking at set-pieces needs to improve, fortunate that Struijk headed wide in the opening minutes. 6.
Eric Dier: Has looked comfortable on the ball at the heart of the defence. 6.
Ben Davies: Covered well for Sessegnon when Raphina got in behind the left back. 6.
Ryan Sessegnon: Put the ball on the plate for Doherty to score. Has looked much more assured than he did at Burnley. 6.
Harry Winks: Played a neat ball to release Sessegnon down the left for the goal, has not been put under much pressure. 6.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: His ball to set up Harry Kane’s goal was remarkable. 6.
Dejan Kulusevski: Sheer determination with an ice-cool finish to double Tottenham’s lead. Has caused Firpo plenty of problems down the right-hand side. 8.
Heung-min Son: Has showed some good touches to try to get away from the Leeds defence. 6.
Harry Kane: Scored from the tightest of angles with his left foot to latch onto Hojbjerg’s lobbed pass. 7.
