Spurs half time ratings vs Liverpool – Another clueless 45 mins

Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty-five minutes of action in this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Liverpool.

Ange Postecoglou’s side head into the break currently 2-0 down.

Guglielmo Vicario: Was falling backwards for Salah’s goal and should have stood up to the header. Still looks anxious at times. Saved well in the build-up to Robertson’s goal. 5.

Pedro Porro: Has spent most of the half defending. His delivery at the other end is below standard. 4.

Cristian Romero: Cleared off his own line to stop Elliott from opening the scoring and some some important clearances. Was lucky not to be punished when he gave the ball away just before half time 6.

Micky van de Ven: Made an important interception with his toe which stopped Salah having a clear shot on goal early on. 6.

Emerson Royal: Failed to spot the run of Salah for the opener. Did well to track back to deny the Egyptian a second just after the half hour mark. 4.

Pape Matar Sarr: Better with the ball compared to at Chelsea on Thursday which is no mean feat. Booked. 4.

Yves Bissouma: Had the only shot of the half so far which never really threatened the goal, struggling to get things moving. 4.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Back into the starting eleven in place of Richarlison and has had limited impact. 4.

Dejan Kulusevski: Was caught on his heels early on when Johnson played a ball across the six-yard box. Has offered little with the ball – really poor for Robertons’s goal. 2.

Heung-min Son: He looks worryingly miles off the pace, another half where it has been well below his standards. 3.

Brennan Johnson: Played a decent ball into the box early on but is still so wasteful in possession. 3.
