Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty five minutes of action against Manchester United.
Tottenham head into the break against Ralf Rangnick’s side currently behind 2-1 due to a brace from Ronaldo either side of a Harry Kane penalty.
Hugo Lloris: Had no chance with Ronaldo’s opening goal. 6.
Matt Doherty: An early defensive lapse that nearly gifted United an opening goal. 6.
Cristian Romero: Did not pick up his customary yellow card. 6.
Eric Dier: Should have looked to have closed down Ronaldo to stop the shot which led to the goal. Saw his back-post header cleared off the line by Dalot. 6.
Ben Davies: A shame he could not have timed his run better instead of seeing his goal chalked off for offside. 6.
MORE SPURS STORIES
Sergio Reguilon: Failed to step up with the rest of the defence which played Sancho on for Ronaldo’s second. 5.
Rodrigo Bentancur: Has had a difficult time marking Pogba but grew into the game as the half went on. 6.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Has been the more creative out of the two central midfielders with some long passes to Doherty. 7.
Dejan Kulusevski: Should he have squared the ball across goal to Son, rather than looking for Bentancur? Made up for it when he made space for a cross which led to the penalty. 7.
Heung-min Son: Has managed to get free down the left-hand side but unable to make it count as much as he would have liked. 7.
Harry Kane: Has worked hard to try and interlink midfield with attack. Gave De Gea no chance with his pin-point penalty. 8.
