Spurs can’t handle losing

This current Tottenham side can’t handle losing. That’s the view of former Republic of Ireland international Tony Cascarino.

We were roundly thumped 4-1 by runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday and in truth Mauricio Pochettino’s side were fortunate to finish the game with 11 players.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli were both guilty of horrendous  tackles and easily could have seen red and Cascarino points out that this is not the first time something like this has happened.

“Saturday’s defeat away to Manchester City reminded me of the Chelsea game in which they lost the title to Leicester City,” he wrote in The Times.

“If they have the ball and are on top in games everyone is happy.
“But as soon as they are in trouble and go behind they seem to lose the plot. They lost their shape and their discipline. Dele Alli is almost symbolic of this problem.

Cascarino added: “Harry Kane and Alli made bad challenges and while I applaud them for attacking City, they were naive and complacent during a 4-1 defeat. He should have been sent off for his foul on Kevin De Bruyne and Mauricio Pochettino would do well to take him out of the spotlight for a game or two over Christmas.”

  1. what a crap ! Any TOP team will fell such as much we were in front foot last 2 season ! Stop writing something we already know ! For a change write the positives that the team is striving and thriving to achieve !

  2. Bullshit. Biased comment. Otomendi's intentional high boot was ok?. Deli got the ball before fouling De bruyner . And the fact that he can unleash a ferocious shof shortly after proof that it wasn't as bad as Otomendi high boot! But what I can't understand is blaming only Deli . I am more critical of Eriksen , and why Poch didn't sub him. Would prefer Sisoko the charging bull that might cause some problems for City defense , then the ineffective Erickson. He was only back in action when City was coasting.

    • Correct dude. You have a point about ecrikson. He dissappears most times turns up when feels like it.
I felt sorry for vertongen no support he had
Poch has a habit of changing team about too often and it unsettles the team I think. I thought aurier was going to play not tripier.
