Spurs can’t handle losing

This current Tottenham side can’t handle losing. That’s the view of former Republic of Ireland international Tony Cascarino.

We were roundly thumped 4-1 by runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday and in truth Mauricio Pochettino’s side were fortunate to finish the game with 11 players.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli were both guilty of horrendous  tackles and easily could have seen red and Cascarino points out that this is not the first time something like this has happened.

“Saturday’s defeat away to Manchester City reminded me of the Chelsea game in which they lost the title to Leicester City,” he wrote in The Times.

“If they have the ball and are on top in games everyone is happy.
“But as soon as they are in trouble and go behind they seem to lose the plot. They lost their shape and their discipline. Dele Alli is almost symbolic of this problem.

Cascarino added: “Harry Kane and Alli made bad challenges and while I applaud them for attacking City, they were naive and complacent during a 4-1 defeat. He should have been sent off for his foul on Kevin De Bruyne and Mauricio Pochettino would do well to take him out of the spotlight for a game or two over Christmas.”
