Spurs have an agreement to sign player in January

Tottenham Hotspur were linked with Colombian midfielder Wilmar Barrios all through the summer, and a number of the Spurs lads came face to face with him in Russia.

Barrios was not the most popular player on the pitch when the two sides met, as he seemed to stamp on Jordan Henderson before being celebrating in England players’ faces.

Sportwitness report that Tottenham were rumoured to be lining up a 25 million Euro deal for the defensive midfielder.

No deal ever went through, and in fact, Tottenham never bought a single player in the summer transfer window.

However, one journalist claims the deal is not yet dead in regards to Spurs and Barrios.

In a report on Argentine radio, one journalist claimed that Spurs already have an agreement to sign the player in January.

However, this is said to be an agent agreement, and Spurs may have to pay 23 million Euros to sign Barrios still.
