Tottenham Hotspur have a legtimately world class attacker in their squad in Heung-min Son, but there is one major issue surrounding the Spurs skipper, and the club has to get it resolved as quickly as possible.

Give that man a contract, now
Yes, I’m talking about Son‘s contract. The South Korean’s current deal with Spurs runs out next summer, and though we’ve been told multiple times that a new agreement will be put in place soon, it still hasn’t happened.
As it stands, we are nine months away from losing a Tottenham legend, the club captain, and our best player for absolutely nothing. Maybe things are getting sorted behind the scenes and I’m worrying for nothing, but it really does feel like we should be panicking at least a little bit.
Son is approaching a decade with the club. He’s now our fifth highest goalscorer of all time, and he continues to lead the team with passion, game-changing moments, and a smile on his face. He’s beloved by fans, and he loves them back, so what is the hold up?

Saudis waiting to snap up Son
Alasdair Gold recently said at a Football.London Q+A that, if both parties are keen to get the contract resolved, it will happen fairly smoothly, and expressed his hope that this would be sorted out soon.
The journalist mentioned there that the club has the option to automatically extend Son’s contract by another year, too. But, that simply isn’t good enough.
We cannot leave one of our greatest ever players hanging on by a thread like this, and it’s not good for the fans to have this situation ongoing, either. Supporters need to know that the club is serious about committing to the players that matter, and none matter more than Son.
With clubs in Saudi Arabia still very much interested in luring Son away from the Premier League next summer (Fichajes), Tottenham should be extra wary.
Son himself has spoken before about how he is not motivated by money and how keen he is to stay in England. But, if we don’t give him a new contract soon, who’s to say he won’t start to question his future.
And, with a depleted contract, Saudi clubs would have a chance at bagging a bargain, thus being able to throw even more money into any prospective contract for Son — everybody has a price, and Spurs need to kill off any threat of losing their most treasured player, or the fanbase will riot.
