“Spurs have won the transfer window” – Some rival fans blown away by Spurs signing

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed today that they have officially sealed the signing of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. The French international put pen to paper on a six-year deal that will see him contracted to the club till 2025.

Lyon confirmed that the deal was worth €60 million upfront with potentially another €10 million in add ons, thus making the 22-year-old Tottenham’s most expensive purchase by far.

This is the second signing that the club have announced today after confirming that a deal had been agreed with Leeds United for their winger Jack Clarke, who was subsequently loaned back to the Championship club for the season.

While Spurs fans were jubilant at the announcement, some Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea fans couldn’t digest the fact that Spurs had signed one of the top midfield talents in Europe.
