Spurs hope to learn move-in date for new stadium today

Tottenham are hoping for a confirmation of the date when the team will be moving into their new stadium, later today.

The move has been delayed by several months owing to issues with the electrical circuitry. Since then a lot of progress has been made at the stadium with a club even holding a familiarisation event for 6000 fans last month.

Spurs fans seem to have developed a serious case of Wembley-fatigue, as evidenced by the dwindling attendance figures in the national stadium during the club’s recent games. It appears as though some good news might be just around the corner for Spurs fans as an update on the test events and the final move in date is expected today.

The Evening Standard reports that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is expected to meet with the contractors today for an update on the progress, after which an announcement is expected from the club.

The Daily Mail reported yesterday that the club have earmarked their game against Crystal Palace on March 16, as the first fixture at the new 62,062 capacity stadium. There has been no official confirmation by the club as of yet but Spurs fans will be hoping an announcement will arrive shortly.
